My Grandfather arrived back in this country 17th Dec 1918 he landed at Leith Scotland What I do know is that he had no memory of who he was, where he was from it was by chance that someone saw the newspaper article reporting him missing in one of the Bristol Papers init it gave his address and who his father was The family story goes that he arrived at 34 Tyndale's Park Road, only to be told by the neighbours that his parents had moved to Oak Lodge, Stoke Bishop so he turned up at Oak Lodge and said apparently I live here he didn't recognise his parents his father and mother introduced them selves to him as did his sister also there was Edna Pike who said hello George I am Edna remember you asked me to marry you This came as a big surprise to the family as the only time they called on Edna was to make up a foursome for tennis It was thought that the family the family owned Oak Lodge at the time of his release as POW I have now discovered that this wasn't the case the family did not own Oak Lodge until 1921 at the time of his release the family was still at 34 Tyndale's Park Road prior to living here the family lived at 120 Coronation Road I now think that it was to this address that he went to only to told that the family were at 34 Tyndale's Park Road After the family left 34 Tyndale's Park Road the house has never been used s a home it became offices which in 2019 it still is
