At the outbreak of World War 1 George Henry Palmer was 14 years old by 1916 he had signed up I have copies of his Warrants which are dated 1916 he was stationed at Oxford he then joined the RFC on the 14th July 1917 he was captured by the Germans Captured near Douai, Nord, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France from there he was transferred to Karlsruhe Officers Camp, Germany he arrived at the camp on the 25th July 1917 on the 5th Oct he was transferred to Heidelberg on the 12th Oct 1917 he was transferred once again to Clausthal Officers Camp, Goslar, Niedersachsen, Germany he was at this camp until his repatriation in late 1918 or early 1919
